How to Make Orange Peel Candy

Peel from 2 oranges

¼ cup of sugar or honey

2 cups of water plus additional 2 cups of water for boiling

1 cup of water for finishing



1.   Cut the pith from orange peel

2.   Slice the orange peel into thin slices

3.  Over a medium-gradual heat, using a small casserole boil orange peel for 20minutes.

4.  Throw left-over water and boil again with 2 cups of water for 20minutes. Boling twice is to take away the bitter taste in orange peel.

5.  Throw left-over water and using same casserole, put ½ cup of sugar or honey to orange peel with 1 cup of water and boil for 30 minutes  in low-medium heat.

6.  Drain orange peel. Set aside left-over water for tea.

7.  To serve, roll orange peel on a plate with sugar as an option or serve as it is since it is already sweet.

8. Transfer orange peel in a sterilize jar. Orange peel candies can last for 2 weeks.

9.  Munch it with tea as dessert or toppings on bread, biscuit and cracker.
