Cinnamon Apple Toast

Start your day with these golden apple toasts and  pair with your favorite tea, hot chocolate or coffee.

For toppings:

6 Slices loaf bread (wheat, plain or wholemeal)

1 tbsp. cinnamon ground

1 tbsp. brown sugar

½ tsp. extra virgin olive oil

1/2 tsp.  lemon zest

1 tsp. lemon juice

1 tbsp. honey

2 apples, cored and sliced

 

For spread:

1 tbsp. cinnamon ground

1 tbsp. brown sugar

½ tsp. extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp. lemon juice

1 tbsp. honey

 

  1. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon ground, brown sugar, olive oil, lemon juice and honey.
  2. Spread on slices of bread. Set aside.
  3. Combine again cinnamon ground, brown sugar, olive oil, lemon juice and honey in a small bowl.  Then use mixture to coat apple slices.
  1. Arrange apple slices on top of bread slices.
  2. Grill or toast for 7 minutes or until apple slices have almost caramelized.
  3. Serve warm. You can spoon fruit jam on top or ice cream and yoghurt.
