Spicy Green Beans

Try this mouthwatering recipe in sweet and spicy sauce and caramelized onion. The secret to make green beans crunchy is to submerge beans in ice water right after boiling.  Adjust the chili and cayenne powder according to your preferred taste.

 

Spicy green beans

 

  1. Bring over medium size casserole with 4 cups of water to boil.
  2. When water is boiling, submerge green beans and cook for 1-2 minutes.Drain the green beans and bath in ice water then drain.
  3. Using a small sauce pan, warm peanut oil then add chopped onion.
  4. Saute onions and caramelized for 5 minutes.
  5. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, cayenne, and chili flakes and simmer for five minutes.
  6. To season, add salt
  7. Makes 3-4 servings as side dish
