How to Make Homemade Peanut Butter

Making all-natural peanut butter is so worthy,  the total expenses for raw materials is cheaper than buying small container of processed peanut butter that is high  in fructose and corn syrup.

To make creamy peanut butter, you need food processor to finely chop the peanuts. You can also use peanut butter machine which is easier.  If you will use food processor, make sure you will rest it every 5-7 minutes. Some food processor easily heat esp. if you are using food processor which is not heavy duty.

So to avoid breaking your food processor, off it after 5 minutes, rest it until heat lessen, and then operate it again.

 

What you need:

2 cups roasted peanuts

1 cup cane sugar or ½ cup maple syrup

1 tbsp. ground cinnamon

2 tbsp. peanut oil

 

  1. If you will use raw peanuts, roasting is easy. You don’t need oven to do this. You can use a pan or stove top flat grill in a low heat. The technique is covering it with foil to roast it easily.
  2. Using food processor, process peanuts in a pulse mode to chop the nuts. Then turn knob to 1 or 2. In 17-20 minutes, you will get creamy peanut butter.
  3. Transfer creamy peanut butter in a large bowl then add maple syrup, ground cinnamon and peanut oil. Mixing well.
  4. If you will use cane sugar, mix it  with peanuts while in food processor.
  5. 2 cups of roasted peanut yields to 16oz. jar.

Oh so creamy peanut butter after 17-20 minutes. Make sure that you rest the food processor to avoid over-heat.

For bitter sweet variety of peanut butter, add dark chocolate. You can also add chop peanut and cacao nibs for crunchier peanut butter.

 

How to Preserve Cherry Tomato

Cherry tomatoes are sweet and great to mix with salad and pasta.

What you need:

¼ kilo cherry plum tomato

Olive oil

Sterilized jar

 

  1. Using stove-top grill, grill the cherry plum tomatoes for 2 minutes
  2. Transfer to a bowl or ceramic plate to cool down
  3. Put cherry plum tomato in a sterilized jar, pressing it tightly then pour olive oil over the top.
  4. Seal and store in the fridge. Once opened, keep refrigerated and always top off with olive oil.
  5. Don’t forget to put label. Use within 2 weeks.
